Prof. Emeritus Dr. R. K. Mishra Memorial Annual Conference of the Jabalpur Divisional Ophthalmic Society

• It is an yearly conference of the Jabalpur Divisional Ophthalmic Society (beginning 2021)
• The conference will preferably be held in the month of June (corresponding to Prof. Dr. R. K. Mishra’s birthday – 5th June)
• The conference bears a theme by alphabetical rotation – cataract, cornea, glaucoma, etc.
• It will be a full day conference (one day only)

Awards – Competitive Awards

• General rules for the competitive award:
  • The recipient shall have to be a member of “Good Standing with no Society Dues”.
  • The award will be judged by a nominated panel of judges constituted by the Chairman Scientific Committee
  • No award shall be given twice to the same person.
  • Any member of the Society who is eligible for the award shall be entitled to be considered for the same. If he/she is a member of any committee discussing the selection of award, he/she shall withdraw from the discussion at that time.
  • In case a suitable recipient is not found, an award shall be deferred without any hesitation for the next rotation turn.
  • No award shall be given posthumously.
  • No combined authorship papers shall be included for the competitive awards.
  • Even if there is only 1 entry for the competitive award, it should be accepted and evaluated.
  • No sponsored talks will be considered for the award.

Prof. Emeritus Dr. R. K. Mishra Memorial Award

• This is a competitive award for a paper or presentation based on the theme of the conference. This award shall bear a medal, a citation and a rolling trophy.
• There will be sessions for post-graduate students with best paper citations (First-Third).
• Name of the Competitive Award: Prof. Emeritus Dr. R. K. Mishra Memorial Award. (Sponsor – Dr. Atul Mishra) instituted in 2022

Dr. P. S. Soan Memorial Award

• Name of the award: Dr. P. S. Soan Memorial Award (instituted in 2023)
• Award for excellence in Community Ophthalmology
• This Award shall bear a rolling trophy
